Dampers and Chimney Caps

Dampers and chimney caps are important elements in the overall operation of your chimney. The damper provides a seal and prevents external debris from entering your firebox. The chimney cap sits above your chimney and keeps external elements out. Both should be functioning safely, and in good condition. Spark arrestors, spark stoppers, rain guards, and rain protectors are all terms used to describe chimney caps. We can assist you with the installation of a cap if you have one. In addition, we can purchase caps on your behalf and install them for you. This will save you time and a trip to the store, and you will know the cap is properly put. Chimney caps that function as dampers are also relatively new on the market. These are an excellent solution that not only keeps undesired materials out but also helps to save energy bills. These are known as Lock-Top Chimney Cap/Dampers in the industry, and they come in a variety of styles. These dampers are fantastic since they combine a number of functions into a single, low-cost item. These stainless steel caps attach to the top of your chimney from the outside and can be opened with a simple pull chain from within your home. The springs in the assemblies allow them to open and close as the chain is pulled. They're simple to install and keep debris out while allowing smoke, heat, and gasses to escape your home. Traditional dampers, which are often metal and poorly insulated, are significantly less efficient. These devices are made of stainless steel and include a rubber gasket. When the damper/cap is placed into place after you've finished using your chimney, the gasket completely seals it, preventing rain and heat from entering. These units are simple to install on existing chimneys (we can assist you with this) and will save you time and money on your heating bills. We can't say enough good things about them.
